A Wenhaston Community Council membership card, the size of a business card.

WCC was a remarkable organisation which served Wenhaston well during its 35 years of existence, 1971-2006. It came into being to co-ordinate the huge village fundraising and practical efforts which resulted in the building of Wenhaston Village Hall in 1975. WCC went on to run the Hall until the formation of a Management Committee in 1984. From 1984-2006 WCC continued to enrich village life by organising fetes and the annual Christmas Bazaar, exhibitions, talks, dances, firework displays etc and by sponsoring visiting theatre, musicians etc. The emphasis was always the enjoyment of those who attended rather than profit. Profits enabled WCC to make financial donations to village groups and projects, such as public seats, and to enhance the Hall with lovely stage curtains (still there!).

In 2000, to mark both the millennium and 25 years since the building of the Hall, a working sundial, maintenance-free, was commissioned and placed on the end wall.
