The Project is trying to bring together all the photographs and other documents that village people have about the village and to scan these into an online archive which can also record information about those images and documents. The project is managed by a small committee who are giving their time and skills for free. There is no public funding or support from any bodies outside the village.

Village Voices
Listen to village people talking about the village as they have known much of their (long) lives. We will be adding new recordings to this section as they become available.

Village Views DVD
The 2009 DVD is available to purchase online. This DVD uses 70 photos from the last 100 years to form a fascinating tour of village old and new. There is a full commentary narrated by Charlie Mills and with incidental harp music played by Bridget Cousins.

This website is the core of the Project and will eventually hold all the documents that we have gathered together with the information we have researched about each item. The Archive can be searched by keyword or category and we are grateful to Blythweb Ltd for creating this whole system and hosting it for us.

Search the Archive
NB: This works by looking for the supplied text in the caption area of each photo. It works best if you use fairly short, single word searches. If you use a longer phrase it will locate every photo that uses any of the words - this can mean quite a long list!

Show Photo by Reference Number:
You can enter a photo ref to view that photo's details.

Registered Users can add comments about each image and can view comments left by other users. Registration is quick and easy and all you need is a valid email address to which we can send a confirming email.
